Hi! I've been exploring various modes of creative expression since I was a kid. I have practiced graphic design, motion graphics and visual effects intensely for over 12 years. The first leg of my journey made me a seasoned print designer, but I soon pivoted into my true passion for motion design.
I now leverage my own skills and those of my direct reports, to craft hundreds of unique motion graphics projects each year for the many subsidiary brands of Discovery Communications. Typical weeks include hands-on creation and art direction of graphics packages for short form and long form video projects for broadcast and digital channels, including a high volume of 360 video. I've also been involved in various network and corporate branding initiatives and am especially interested in our branded entertainment projects.
I am always eager to experiment. I believe in fun solutions for mundane projects. I love the intersection of expression and structure. I believe creatives need confidence to access their greatness, but also that greatness comes out of leaving our comfort zones. Design is magic: It succinctly communicates a product's place in culture at the speed of...design.
When I am not working I am recording music that will never be heard, making short films, circuit bending keyboards, riding my 1978 Peugeot U-08 road bike, eating guacamole, or watching Duplass Brothers films with my wife and dog.
